Our social skills groups are run under the direction of experienced Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and Psychologists, supported by our dedicated Elevated Abilities aides and staff. This collaborative approach ensures that each child receives individualized attention and expert guidance throughout the program.

We offer three levels of social skills groups, each focusing on specific areas of social development:

  • Level 1: Playful Pandas - Functional Play Skills (Ages 5-9)
This group focuses on foundational play skills, including turn-taking, sharing, and initiating play. Through structured activities and guided free play, children learn to engage with peers and build basic social communication skills.

  • Level 2: Talkative Tigers Problem - Solving Strategies (Ages 8-11)
In this group, children learn to navigate social challenges by developing problem-solving strategies. The curriculum covers topics such as handling disappointment, understanding the size of problems, and responding appropriately to different social situations.

  • Level 3: Conversational Cayotes - Conversational Skills (Ages 9-13)
This group is designed to enhance conversational skills, including initiating and maintaining conversations, understanding non-verbal cues, and handling disagreements. The focus is on fostering meaningful social interactions and building lasting friendships.

Each program runs for 12 weeks, providing consistent support and opportunities for practice and growth. Our skilled staff use a variety of teaching methods, including role-playing, video modeling, and positive reinforcement, to ensure that children feel comfortable and successful in their social development journey.

***Potential clients are required to attend one of the following observation sessions. This is to ensure that each child is assigned to the most appropriate group. If your family has available respite hours, we appreciate using them for the observation night; however, participation does not require this.***
